How We Test
Every review and comparison on this site follows the same basic process. Products are mounted, worn, or installed on our own bikes and run across a mix of conditions relevant to that category — a helmet gets logged miles across hot and cold rides, a tire combo gets run across hardpack, mud, and rock sections on the same test loop, an exhaust gets measured for both sound and real-world power feel, not just a spec claim. We take notes ride by ride rather than forming an opinion after a single outing, since first impressions and long-term durability often tell different stories.
Where a product category has an objective standard — like a helmet's DOT/ECE/SNELL certification, or a jacket's CE armor level — we report that standard directly rather than guessing at it, and we link to the certifying body's own criteria where it's useful.

That commission has no bearing on which products we choose to test, how we rank them, or what we write about their pros and cons. A product doesn't get a better review because it converts better, and we don't remove a fair criticism because a retailer partner sells the item. If we think a product is mediocre, we say so, commission or not.
How We Choose What to Review
- Products that riders are actively asking about, based on search trends and community discussion.
- Gear with enough real-world usage — either from our own testing or a substantial base of verified rider feedback — to form a confident opinion.
- A deliberate mix of price points in every category, so budget riders and racers chasing marginal gains both get a genuinely useful comparison.
We don't accept payment from brands in exchange for a placement or a rating. If a brand sends a product for testing, that's disclosed, and it's evaluated by the same standard as anything we purchased ourselves.
Corrections & Updates
Gear changes — models get discontinued, specs get revised, prices move. When we catch an error or a product goes out of date, we update the page rather than leaving stale information live. If you spot something that looks wrong or outdated, we want to hear about it.
